My art

unnamed

We started painting about two weeks ago, and i have been working hard to finish since then. The mediums in my artwork are canvas on a frame, acrylic paint, school paint and sand. the issue that i am focusing in the art works is pollution, the black in the corner of the art is to represent oil spills and how it is moving through the sea up to land.

My inspirations for my artwork are:

Leonid Afremov: I choose this artist because of the way he blended the different colour paints together and the heritage he shares with part of my family.

Melissa Mckinnion: i chose her for her textures

Our first day of camp started on Tuesday 29th of October. When we arrived at the camp I was very tired from the long boat and bus trip and very ready for bed. The next day me and a few other activity groups went on the long hike up to see whisky falls it took 4 hours! On the third day my activity group did the flying kiwi it was definitely my favorite activity it was really cool I went 9m into the air! On Friday we did the team challenges I did chubby bunny I could fit about 10 marshmallows in my mouth. On the final day we had to wake up at 6:00 in the morning. Once we had packed up and were ready to get on the bus I was very tired so I slept a bit on the bus and ferry so when we got into wellington I was very ready for bed!

National Ice cream Month

This homework for this week is about national ice cream month.

Link:http://www.dogonews.com/2016/7/4/rejoice-july-is-national-ice-cream-month

Summary:

National ice cream month was proclaimed in 1984 by President Ronald Reagan. However the idea was raised by senator Walter Dee Huddleston in 1983, but it was initially ignored until he re-proposed the idea in 1984 that’s when President Ronald Reagan got involved.Another invention was ice cream day, which is the third Sunday in July when the President asked all ice cream stores in the U.S  to celebrate the day by giving away free ice creams. He appreciated ice cream as a fun and nutritious food that is loved by over 90% of the United States population.

My thoughts:

I think national Ice cream month is a great invention I love ice cream and I know that lots of other people do to. Ice cream is great on a hot day and also as a delicious dessert!! I do feel bad for all those people who don’t enjoy the taste of ice cream either because they don’t  like it or that they can’t eat dairy. What or your thoughts on ice cream?  Do you think that they should designate other months to different foods? leave a comment below to share your thoughts.

100 word challenge

“Isn’t it amazing in first class, I have never had a more relaxing aeroplane ride in my life” I sighed as someone started serenading the plane with beautiful violin music. But then a boy started screaming for food but he was quickly silenced as the air host gave him a bright yellow banana and before I could even blink he had already eaten it right up but that wasn’t enough. He started screaming again and his mother swept him off his feet and tried to calm him down in her arms then he finally fell asleep and so did I.

100 word challenge

A whistle blew and everybody disappeared into the forest. It was a blur of mud and dirt then everybody spread out and I just kept running. The terrain was rocky and long after a few hours I could feel myself slipping away, but then someone ran past chanting “I need to finish” then I thought, “I have done to much to give up now” then I saw it, it was the finish line I ran through it and thought I am done I have finally finished an ultra marathon then I woke up and realised it was just a dream.

Homework

For my homework for this week I used a basic cookie recipe and put a twist on it.

I had a busy week so I decided to keep it simple. I have made vanilla cookies, and for my twist I added chocolate chips to another batter.

100 word challenge

As the flame flickered and then went out, I looked around it was pitch black I screamed for my parents but there was nothing I was trying to process what had just happened. There was bang and the door from my left opened it wasn’t my parents it was a man, I screamed and as I did lightning struck and light was shone onto the man, and I could see that  he had one eye and a scar that stretched across his face but then I realized he isn’t real I woke up and realized it was just a dream.
